Sometimes acknowledging our First Nations people can sound trite and hollow.I would just like to personally say how much I appreciate the rich and diverse culture that is shared so graciously with us by our First Nation people.

The traditional custodians of Samford Valley, and their elders past and present from the Yuggera nation, and clan relations that extended into and from the Jinibara, Kabi Kabi and Waka Waka clans neighbouring this region need to be acknowledged and respected for their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region and personally to me by my friendships with them.
