Join Wendy Bailye for 50 Shades of Grey, Felt!, an inspiring online feltmaking course exploring monochrome felt, texture, pattern and surface design.
Working with a limited black-and-white colour palette encourages you to look more closely at the elements that make textile art interesting: contrast, line, texture, pattern, light and shadow. Without the distraction of colour, you can discover new ways to create expressive, sophisticated and visually exciting handmade felt.
Throughout this six-week online feltmaking class, we’ll explore creative techniques, experiment with materials and make a collection of samples to develop your understanding of monochrome design. You’ll discover ways to combine fibres and fabrics, create interesting felt textures and patterns, and develop more confident, considered felt surfaces.
Whether you’re an experienced feltmaker wanting to expand your skills or a textile artist looking for fresh inspiration, this class will encourage you to experiment, explore and approach your work in new ways.
