This artwork is part of a set of three that was made during the height of the COVID pandemic. Each piece references an important quality of the soul that I had to develop to traverse those challenging couple of years, The Window of Inner Peace, The Window of Love, Care, Compassion and Kindness, and The Window of Creativity. I see these qualities as windows that I have had to open more fully to understand the “new” world I have found myself in. I consider them to be gifts discovered among a challenging experience – these qualities have fortified me.
My creativity has been one of the things I relied on heavily during the first two years of the pandemic. The ‘window’ of creativity is one I had to open wider to get through. I loved working with the muted colours and the harmony that developed this piece.
Materials: High quality archival print from original textile artwork, professionally photographed and reproduced on archival fine textured art silk paper.
The originals of these pieces are very large, measuring approximately 75 x 176cm, made from merino wool, silk fibre, rayon fabric and silk fabric.
The prints have been professionally photographed and printed by a local fine art printer in Australia, resulting in beautiful detail and accurate colours. They look just like the textile work with shadowy borders, visible fibres and wrinkles making them appear three-dimensional. For longevity, the print should be framed well. The prints are signed and are available in four sizes. Although the prints are available individually, they were designed to be displayed as a set of the three designs in the Cathedral Windows collection.
