Poor old us. Australia has had a very catastrophic start to the New Year. It is with great sadness that we all watch the terrible images of drought and fire and destruction of the environment , and all living creatures therein. I hold great hopes that these events will engender a change in our political arena and that the people of this country will rise up to the challenging times ahead. Our environment is not a commodity. It is not an unlimited resource to use. My question to you, and I, is “How are we going to change our life and priorities, so that our negative impact on the earth is minimal”? How can we help heal the earth?
Start by planting as many trees as you can and don’t stop! Simplistic but a very good start for the New Yea. It is something we can actually do that will affect change and it will make ourselves feel better that we have at least done something. Political change and policy change will take some time so start with something close in. Can’t plant them yourself? Join Tree Sisters and gift some or get involved in the organisation! They are fabulous. Listen to their podcasts called Courageous Conversations. My dear Friend Pollyanna Darling is the host.

Personally I have also realised that I am not an unlimited resource as well! I have made a decision to have some sabbatical time starting May 31st 2020 which may extend to 2022. A break from teaching and traveling. We have just found out as well, that Murray has a health issue that requires our full attention. I will be concentrating on my own work and family without the distractions of so much travel (much as I TRULY love it!) Here are some pieces inspired by my trip to Tasmania and the Huon Region.
