Happy New Year? Well, I hope so.

Well what a year 2020 was! My career has turned upside down…which is kind of good and kind of bad! The need to change direction is a part of being human, and I am trying to embrace the necessary changes and make something delightful from them! We are very fortunate to live in Australia and particularly in Brisbane- our experience of COVID has been very mild compared to most other places and for that I am very grateful. My thoughts are constantly with those who are suffering. We had a pretty awful year personally last year and I am so fortunate it ended better than it started.

I had planned a one-year sabbatical from traveling and teaching for 2021 and as my working life books up a few years ahead I have had to plan this for years. So it kind of came along a bit early! My plan is to concentrate on my own artistic work for this year. It is easier said than done, as life seems to fill up no matter how you try to quieten it. We are nearing the end of January already!

I am considering my options for next year and will let you know of my plans re teaching when the dust has settled! I have made very little felt but have been pursuing other artistic activities such as collage which I am thoroughly enjoying. I have taken a few online classes which I am enjoying in collage, bookbinding and drawing from nature. Here is a photo from my happy place not far from home, where I go to re-charge my battery! Keep safe and keep creative!
